Abstract
The geology of the Puzzle Vein, located in the Creede mining district, has been studied. The Puzzle vein is conceptually an epithermal precious metal vein dominantly composed of layered barite formed by fissure filling. The host rock of the Puzzle vein is ash flow tuff. As the vein narrows, it becomes unproductive as it passes upwards into less intensely welded tuff.
