Abstract

In the work from which this thesis has been written, a comparison is made between xanthstes and dithlocarbamates as flotation collectors for sulfide minerals. Contact angles have been used for many years as a means of indicating whether a particular reagent may possibly be employed as a collector in the flotation of a particular mineral. In this investigation, contact angles are used as the basis for comparison, to determine the relative collecting powers of potassium ethyl xanthate and potassium n-decyl dithiocarbamate.
