Abstract
The leaching kinetics of platinum and palladium from spent automobile catalyst pellets were investigated. An Unsteady State Reaction Model was used to simulate the experimental data with the experimental rate expression satisfactorily. It was also found that the extent of reaction of Pt and Pd depends on the leaching solution concentration ratio, the Pt and Pd initial concentration, the bed expansion, the pressure drop, the voidage of catalyst pellets in the fluidized bed reactor, the minimum fluidization velocity of particles and the maximum terminal fluid velocity.
