Abstract

Bently Heritage Estate Distillery is a small distillery located in Minden, Nevada. This company distills products that include gin, vodka, and whiskey. In the hopes of becoming a more sustainable company, Bently Heritage has decided they would like to purse the installation of a process to capture the carbon dioxide that comes off of the fermentation process used to produce alcohol and purify it for sale as beverage-quality carbon dioxide. As a means to provide the company with a preliminary idea of what the process might look like in addition to an economic estimate, the team developed and analyzed a process to recover and purify carbon dioxide to beverage quality in accordance with industrial and engineering standards in the United States. Economic and safety analyses were then conducted.
