Abstract
Field mapping in the northern Hot Springs Mountains, Churchill County, Nevada, indicates that the intersection of Basin and Range faults with an earlier fault zone corresponds with the location of the Desert Peak Geothermal Field. Uplift of the area occurred twice, transporting greenstones which contain the geothermal reservoir close to the surface.
