Abstract
Hallway Person Affixed Steering Supplement (HallPASS) is a tool for navigating through the interior of buildings. This project is similar to Google Street View, but is focused entirely on the mapping and traversal of building interiors. The primary purpose of HallPASS is to provide a virtual through buildings on the UNR campus. It can also be used to help orient new students or visitors, as well as assisting those who get disoriented. HallPASS utilizes the Microsoft Kinect and its depth and color cameras to create mappings, which are then transformed into three dimensional (3D) models. These hallway models are uploaded to a mobile application and allows the user to navigate through them. This application is the only interaction the users have with the system, therefore the users will not be required to generate the 3D models, but simply navigate through them.
