Abstract

Objects of shared reality define the aesthetic of our current age, the age of the Anthropocene. The objects I am referring to are the conventionally recognized forms and structures that direct, encourage, and sustain our consumptive actions and behaviors. Our daily lives' ubiquitous objects and materials directly influence our orientation as consumers. Mass-produced forms that are more like one another than they are different entice our consumptive cooperation and have come to epitomize our society. The Aluminum can, the plastic water bottle and the Amazon package waiting for us at the threshold of our homes are all produced in vast quantities and in a wide array of shapes, sizes, colors, etc., however, they all originate from a similar disposition single-use convenience.

Description

The exhibition consisted of large installations and sculptural works about data visualization and dialogue directed toward consumption and waste in the United States.
