Abstract

The art from False Awakening utilizes elements from dream research, personal dreams, and surveyed dreams. It embraces a wide range of influences to reexamine my biases on the topic of dreams and lucid dreams. This practice has been developed in opposition to my previous art which pushed my political narratives. My art serves as a device to increase lucid dreams, aid in creativity, inspire joy, and question reality. In this discussion, I will explore the motivations for developing my art practice, show dream research and how it applied to my art, and provide art historical and contemporary connections to the thesis exhibition.
