Abstract
Secondary dispersion halos of silver in caliche on alluvial fans were studied as possible guides to precious metal deposits in the Basin and Range Province. The accessibility of alluvial fans for sampling and the occurrence of secondary dispersion halos below mineralized areas should make silver an excellent regional guide to undiscovered precious metals deposits.
