Abstract

Adsorptions of oleic acid and dodecylamine hydrochloride on hematite surface are studied using electrophoresis measurements of hematite in sodium oleate solution and in dodecylamine hydrochloride solution at different concentrations and pH's. Theoretical expressions are derived which show the dependence of the PZC of hematite on the adsorbing species. The PZC of hematite shifts to the acid side due to the adsorption of oleic acid.
