Abstract

The Jurassic ultramafic complex on the western slopes of the northern Sierra Nevada is contained within the Melones fault zone and intrudes eugeosynclinal metasedimentary and metavolcanic rocks of Paleozoic and Mesozoic age. Mesozoic intrusive rocks include gabbro, keratophyre, and granite.
