Abstract
Societies all around the globe have their own individual constructions of justice. There are uniquely recognizable ideas about what is and is not "just" according to what a certain social group values. In some instances, monetary recompence is the driving factor behind social justice. In others, it is social status which is most important when addressing issues of social justice. Current philosophical definitions divide social justice into ideas of sociocultural recognition and socioeconomic redistribution. This thesis explores the dynamics between monetary and sociocultural forms of justice and how each is utilized by faith-based organizations, particularly Christian faith-based organizations. Taking a sampling of four, faith-based organizations within Nevada, this project helps to establish a trend within the social justice practices of faith-based advocacy groups in Nevada.
